Terms of Use

Terms that govern your use of this website. They do not constitute a commercial agreement for the Sophia KYC product.

1. Scope

These Terms of Use apply to your access to and use of sophiakyc.com and any subdomains we operate (together, "this site"). They are a stand-alone agreement covering this site only. Use of the Sophia KYC product by a customer is governed by a separate commercial agreement and a Data Processing Agreement.

2. Acceptance

By accessing this site, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the site.

These terms incorporate our Privacy Policy by reference.

3. Who we are

  • Legal entity: [REGISTERED COMPANY NAME]
  • Companies House number: [NUMBER]
  • Registered office: [REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS]
  • Contact: info@sophiakyc.com

In these terms, "we", "us" and "Sophia" refer to the legal entity above. "You" means anyone accessing this site, whether on your own behalf or for the organisation you represent.

4. Permitted use of this site

You may access this site for lawful, informational purposes related to evaluating Sophia KYC for your organisation. You agree not to:

  • Use this site in any way that breaches applicable law or regulation.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of this site, the server it is hosted on, or any connected system.
  • Scrape, harvest, or otherwise extract content at scale, or use automated systems in a way that imposes an unreasonable load.
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or any other technically harmful material.
  • Misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any organisation when contacting us.
  • Use any content from this site for the purpose of training, fine-tuning, or evaluating machine-learning models without our prior written permission.

5. Intellectual property

All content on this site — including the Sophia KYC name and logo, the wordmark, the architectural diagrams, the brand palette, the written copy, and the underlying code — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may view and share links to this site for non-commercial, business-evaluation purposes. Any other reproduction, public display, or commercial use requires our prior written permission.

The architectural reference to AWS, ECCTA, the EU AI Act, the FCA Consumer Duty, Companies House, and named third parties (e.g. Onfido, Sumsub, Open Banking) is for descriptive purposes only. We claim no affiliation with these parties and respect their trademarks.

6. No offer, no advice, no commitment

The content on this site is provided for general information only. Nothing on this site constitutes:

  • A contractual offer or binding commitment by us.
  • Legal, regulatory, financial, compliance, or risk-management advice.
  • A representation that Sophia KYC is, will be, or has been certified or approved by any regulator.

If you are considering Sophia KYC for a regulated use case, the terms that will apply will be set out in a separate written agreement signed by both parties. Until that agreement is in place, no representation made on this site or in pre-contractual correspondence is binding on us.

7. Information accuracy and forward-looking statements

We aim to keep this site accurate and up to date. We make no warranty that it is complete, free from error, or current. The product capabilities described on this site reflect our development direction; specific features, timelines, integrations, and outcome ranges may change.

Quoted outcome ranges (for example, conversion uplift or operational cost reduction) are illustrative of what has been observed in comparable deployments. They are not a guarantee of results for any specific customer. Actual outcomes depend on starting conditions, deployment scope, and many factors outside our control.

References to the "earlier-generation platform in production at a UK tier-1 bank" describe prior work by Sophia's founder. Reference details are available to qualified prospects under a mutual non-disclosure agreement.

8. Confidentiality

Information you share with us through correspondence on this site — for example, about your current onboarding stack, regulatory timeline, internal projects, or commercial situation — will be treated as confidential and used only to evaluate whether and how Sophia might be of service.

For substantive pilot evaluation, we will sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement before exchanging material non-public information.

9. Third-party links and references

This site may link to third-party websites (e.g. ICO, Companies House). We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, security, or privacy practices. Following a link is at your own risk.

10. Availability

We aim to keep this site available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may suspend, withdraw, or restrict access to all or part of this site for operational, security, or business reasons, with or without notice.

11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

This site is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all conditions, warranties, representations, and other terms — express or implied — that might otherwise apply to this site or its content.

We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site, including (without limitation) loss of profits, business interruption, loss of business opportunity, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss, even if foreseeable.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

For the avoidance of doubt: this clause governs your use of this site only. Liability arising from the Sophia KYC product, where deployed at a customer, is governed by the relevant commercial agreement.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses, damages, or expenses we incur as a result of your misuse of this site or your breach of these terms — including any unauthorised scraping, automated extraction, or use of our content to train machine-learning systems.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to this site at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have breached these terms or used the site in a way that is unlawful or harmful.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and we both agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to use the site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
